Doesn't start sometimes?
I have a 98.5 that will start 99 times then the next time do nothing.
I will turn the key but it acts like I’m not. The dash lights don't even come on. It started doing this about one year ago. It first failed to start then turned the key the second time and it fired right up. Second time was about six months later, same thing. Then it was every 2 to 4 months. It has been getting worst. Now it may fail to start once a month. I first thought it was the starter so I replaced it. Then I thought it was the ignition switch, had that replaced. I know how to fool it into starting if it acts up 90% of the time. If it fails to start (dead key) I can turn the key to the first stop and pull out the ignition fuse and then put it back in. If I hear a small click sound from the engine area it will start like normal.
This always fixed it the first time, now I will need to do it more than once to make it reset the problem. If you have any ideals on what it is or if I can answer any question about it please let me know.

Have you checked your battery connections? That happend to me a couple times. It may look like it has a connection but if it is loose the slightest bit it can cause it not to start or do anything. Good luck

starter contacts. replace them with the oversized and sand down the plunger.i have 5 sets of contacts ill sell them for $10.00 a set plus shipping email if interested mini14@optonline.net shouldnt take u more then 45 min. to remove starter, repair and replace. no need for u to buy a new starter these nippondenso starters are built very tough.
the idea is to not replace the $200 starter just repair it.......very simple and cheap to do. these are very good long life starters with cheap replacable parts. when the contacts wear bad u will get clicking and no start, a few turns of the key on off on off u will eventually get it to start. when it wears badly the plunger sticks in the groove of the worn contact and continues to run for a while..when worn very badly, u get nothing happening when u turn the key.
