data link connector??

data link connector??

where is it exactly on a 98.5? I found two unused connector by the fuse box but they don't fit.

I believe it's taped to a wiring harness close to the front of the engine (near the injector pump and power steering pump).

The last time I looked at a stock '99 it was inside of the loom and you just had to feel for the connector.

On my 02 it is under the dash, under the ash tray.

on the 02 , you will find it up front just below the VP44 and the front gear housing , it is a 3 pin triangle connector. protocol is J1939 and is for communicating with Cummins Insite or Inspec. with Inline II box.

That's the location for the OBD-II diagnostic port. I think the connection he's looking for the is the data link port where you hook up a Edge box.

I found it!!....Geez
It was right where aggiejustin said it was. I guess the 10 minute install time on the box was a wee off. It takes that long to tap into the exhaust manifold. Other than no boost reading, it's good to go. I'll have to check that tomorrow.
