Occasional Crank No Start Condition

Occasional Crank No Start Condition
Howdy all,
In my 1999 2500, I will occasionally run into a crank no start condition.
Engine will crack, but nothing after that.
I disengage the key from the starter position to the run position, try again and it fires right up. The VP44 and lift pump only have a bout 30,000 on the clock, and are two years old.
I do have the Edge programmer, which is set at it lowest setting (it's used mostly for monitoring and as a turbo saver).
I am not getting any codes either.
Any help out there?
Donnie

Does the WTS light come on like normal? Are you giving the ECM time to perform boot up diagnostics before starting?
Does the fuel pump cycle normally? Turn key to ON and fuel pump should cycle for 2 seconds. Bump key from ON to START and the fuel pump should cycle for 25 seconds. Engine running the fuel pump should run full time.
