Cold Idle Engine Warming

Have any of you had any luck with your dealer getting this "TSB 18-019-01 Cold Idle Engine Warming" done? I tried and dealer said it was not an option on my truck.

Aaron give Airdrie Chrysler a call they used to have a knowledgable Diesel tech that could manage the process and yes if your truck is an 01 the cold idle feature was programmed into the ECM. The dealer had to "enable" it but there was problems getting it done correctly as per TSB. As a side note mine has never been properly enabled and I installed a cable manual locking throttle which never fails. PK

Re:Cold Idle Engine Warming

I've had mine correctly enabled, and it works very nicely cept for one thing. If its cold out and you plug your truck in, manifold temp already to warm to allow the high idle to work. So works best at moderatly cold temps (15 degF to 25degf) where truck is not plugged in. I had to go to a small Chrysler dealer ( who actually wanted business ), could not find a Dodge dealer who could/would figgure it out. Me and the tech sat down and read instructions then finger flogged around in the DBB till we found what we wanted. Because of their willingness to help I bought my wifes car from them.

DuaneW.
