Code P1689 ??
 

I just finished installing my CKP sensor, and a noise filter, while installing the noise filter I removed the rubber boot between air filter housing and inner fender. I went to check codes after a couple days driving and now I get a P1689, and a P0234, I found P0234 is over boost, but I can't find code P1689, what is this ? I hope to get all my problems worked out soon!!

P1689..No communication between ECM and injection pump module.

In addition to the code info the service manual also gives a breif description as follows.--- .Data link circuit failure between ECM and fuel injection pump. Low power, engine derated, or engine stops.

I gotta drop some $$ coin $$ and get me one of those rediculously overpriced manuals some day.
but seriously, I should get one. Any place sell them cheaper than the bend over dealer?

Thanks for the help. Man I sure didn't want to here that Injection word, the good news is the code did not show again, and I never got a check engine light. Before I changed the CKP sensor the truck died at walmart, maybe I didn't clear all the codes. As long as they don't come back up. I bought one of them Pocket Scans from Autozone and have been happy with the scanner so far.
