Clutch for pulling & street use?

Would a 3250 DD SB clutch work for the little bit of sled pulling I do in the summer? Or could I get by with a single disc 3800 full ceramic clutch? I plan on getting my truck to about 500hp cause I want to be able to use it daily, and my wife does drive it occasionally.

Dual Disk is the only way to pull, all of them are good on the street

The DD 3250 with sprung hub from Southbend is awesome. I tow with it & pull with it, daily drive it & love it.

I had one of the 3250 12 ceramic button. I pulled with it probaly 3 times and had close to the same setup as you do exept a 6 spd. It done ok but the plate load was not enough for the takeoff. South Bend said that a 3250 should not be pulled at any time. If I was you I would go ahead and get a 3600 lb. plate load. It would handle being hooked to the sled a lot more and wouldnt sacrifice any street ablility. Ive been down this road several times and it never hurts to have a little more clutch than you need.

Would I have to get a hydraulic upgrade kit then.

I've run it with 10 hole Dragon flow injectors & it handled it fine, but wot runs would get warm & way too smokey for towing. The 4 flow Dragon Fly injectors from Industrial Injection are a perfect match for the HTT 62/71/14. The Drag comp was great on my truck, but the quad has less smoke & cooler egts. The Adrenaline also has more options along with gauges, Turbo Timer & the bottom end power is unreal. I'd go quad.

SB recommends a hydraulic upgrade with 3600lbs and up.My buddy ran his stock one for 3 months before it failed.

Yes enventually you would I had to replace mine after maybe three days. But i had the 3850 plate load. I have a friend that has the 3600 and he had to replace his after 3 to 4 weeks. A hydraulic kit off of a 94 to 97 will hold up better. Thats what i put in i just had to do some modifications to the rod that connects to your clutch pedal. (just cut it and made it longer)

Really? Peter told me that the 3250 is good for 3-4 pulls a year & still should last 3-400k miles.

I get about 20 hooks a year so maybee the 3250 wouldnt be what I need. But I only put on 12k a year so still should probably keep it in mind.

He changes his mind every time he talks to me. I had the 3250 for probaly 20000 miles. My truck had 443 hp but i never pulled it. I only pulled it one or two times and it slipped on the first time. i then upgraded it to the 3850 full feramic and a little more power. I pulled it for probaly 20 pulls before it was junk as well. but it was do to my own, fault trying bigger turbos and such.

I've pulled 4 times with mine & no problems at all. I even tow with it. I don't ride my clutch out the hole, just feather it long enough to get the sled moving & BAM!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe getblown5.9 has, or had a 3850 in his truck, making well over 550hp, and I've watched him pull a few times, and trust me, he abuses that clutch I've never heard him mention on here that he had any problems with it holding up.
I'm only planning on between 500-550hp someday, and might try sled pulling a few times, but not much. I think I'm gonna go with a 3850 just to be on the safe side.
