cant believe my VP is still alive!!
I have a Fass fuel system (not sure which model) on my truck and the other day I realized that it didn't do its usual purge with the key on position. Now this in mind I don't remember the last time I actually remember hearing it. But sure enough the bumped the starter and NOTHING! Pump was dead. Checked the fuse, checked connections, even replaced the relay...still nothing. My dad and I tested all the power and had power coming in everywhere. Not running tho. Finally tapped on the motor (gently)
to make sure the brushes weren't hung up and it ran, tried it again, froze, tapped it and ran fine with a few more cycles. How was my truck still running with no fuel pumping to it? Is my VP on its way to heaven? And can the FASS pumps be rebuilt.
Thanks,
Ben

If your fuel pump was not pushing fuel your vp was sucking it. Its not designed to do that and will get really hot doing it which could ruin or lessen the life of your electronic board, which is mounted on top of it.
Time will tell, I think I ran mine a while with a bad lift pump but she's still goin after almost three years and 30K miles!
Thanks for serving, BTW, Ben!

that will be ok then if it lasts that long cuz then ill either P-pump it or get a new truck, I just didnt think it had enough ***** to pull all that fuel i mean hell it was running like nothing had ever quit.
