Brake/ABS light won't stay off.

I read on here that a common problem with the brake and ABS light intermittently going on and off is associated with the rear wheel abs/speed sensor. So I replaced that and the light is doing the same on off thing. Any other ideas?

I have a 1998.5 24 valve 2500. It doesn't have front wheel sensors. There aren't any codes or other lights.

Did you just throw a part at it or did you inspect the sensor ring, connections, etc.?

I just threw a part at it. That was the advise of the diesel shop I took it to. Do you have advise in checking the ring or connections?

There are actually quite a few reasons the ABS/Brake light come on. When it happened to me it turned out to be the brake pedal switch under the dash. Coincidentally the cruise wouldnt work either as the system thought the brake pedal was always on.

Hello JKKM,
Fighting somewhat the same issue,
The brake light switch controls several things besides the rear stop lights.
When the ABS / brake light is on the cruse will not work as stated by KABOOM.
I replaced the brake Light Switch and are still in testing / confirming repair.
Note: If you buy a switch confirm the little arm on the switch has not been activated BEFORE you leave the store (see the install instructions in the box)
See like below for updates on my repair.

Hope this helps
happy Mopar
Arron.
