I wish I could afford it but the fella who is building my motor said the BD twins don't require you to go that far. He has ran them for a couple of years with only ARP studs and had no problems. He is well recognized around here and is a very knowledgable. The wife told me $10,000 and no more!!! She thinks getting married is more important than o-ringing and twins. I've already got away with the smarty, HRVP and the FASS.... Don't want to push my luck!

When I was running my stock HY at stock boost levels with a BHAF and 4" straight pipe I saw a 500* difference at WOT. Normal driving and even cooling down they were always within 50-100* of each other.

Finally got her back on the road, boy she purrs like a tiger... Sure is nice to drive a real truck! The egt's sure climb fast moving the probe to pre turbo. I'll have to keep a close eye on that untill the BD twins are installed. Sure won't push her to the limit again.

To make this build pay for itself and for the BD twins. Put in some decent sticks into that rig. Those jammer 2 are to small for those twins. I bought a set of BD155, no egt's issue and low smoke levels. Decent power, nothing big but a nice of daily drivers. Once you get those twins, I let you take the machers out for a burn. Running a HO pump and those twins you should be good. Your clutch might complain abit but what the heck its only money right.

Thats good to hear that you back up and running
I have a set of my own twins but basically they are Piers towing twins(stock 35/14 and a Bht3b/26 from Piers) and I have DD2's and a drag comp and can spool the hell out of them. If I where you I would skip over the little BD twins and go for real sized ones (ie bottom turbo has a 5in outlet and is normally found on a class 8 truck)

Well I could pass up 3k for twins cause I had the abilty to build my twins for around 1500-2k US never added it up and my buddy helped me out, and yes that is a Yrok A/C compressor that I will eventually be using as a air compressor. Oh and yess I know the paint looks crappy as I used high temp paint that needs to be cooked on in the oven and when I took them out it left finger prints from the welding cloves I had on
yes his truck is sweet looking but its not mine

Please don't get me wrong there are lots of those BD twins out there making some killer HP but I think there are better/cheaper sets out there and if you want to keep chasing the big ##'s as far as HP goes the other sets are well adapteble to change

This thread definitely makes more sense now
1300 pre turbo had me scared
Then saw it was post turbo and said wow, that makes more sense
I have heard between 300 and 500 deg difference. Either way, 1600-1800 is toasty.

Hi ya Dan, how's it going??? FASS is fantastic by the way.(13 psi idle-10 psi WOT) I was being a dumb*** and I learn't my lesson the hard way. All good now and runs very nice... The company that fixed it did a beautiful job for a pretty good price. Time for twins after I break it in..

By the way, we don't really care what the duramax crowd thinks!!! The funny thing is, we own a duramax!!! The duramax I was racing is from around the Edmonton area and has 512 hp and 964 lbs. I think I did well, as I only have 380 hp... I didn't think I was cutting a duramax down, was just racing and ahead!!! My wife loves her duramax and I like my Cummins, go figure!!!
