auto starts out in second gear

Last month my 47re would not shift from first to second without backing off the throttle. After 12 days at the tranny shop I was supposed to pick it up today. But he would not release it because it starts out in second gear?!!?
He put in a triple disc extreme, billet torque converter and beefed up the tranny as well as installing a shift kit. This guy talks a great game but 12 days in the shop and it isin't done yet?!? Does any one have any idea why it would start out in second gear?

I second the gov press. solenoid and transducer. Mine was doing the same thing and I fixed it for @ $200.

Auto starts out in second gear

I got the truck back from the shop today. It was the govenor solinoid so I am told. This tranny now has a triple disc billet torque converter built by PDQ that they call the extreme. I drove home at 65 m.p.h. and 1750 R.P.M.
on the tachometer. This truck since I bought it on ebay last December has never ran at 65m.p.h. and only 1750 r.p.m. I am going to load up my 5000 pound camper and drive to Montana next week. I am looking forward to seeing how it works. I will not be surprised if my fuel mileage doesn't improve.
The truck has 245,000+ miles on it and the tech said when he pulled it down
it had a factory stock original TC in it. It looks like there is a big benefit derived by having the right TC.
