Re:Around 2000 rpm have sound like valves ticking....help
A friend of mine has the same situation. He said the wheel in the turbo had some play. He put on a new one, but still had a knock so a trucker told him it was the nature of the beast and to try automatic trans. fluid in a tank of fuel. He did and it quit knocking. I still think he needs to take it to a shop though. ???

Re:Around 2000 rpm have sound like valves ticking....help
Do not use ATF fluid as a fuel additive or conditioner. The detergent in ATF has been known to shorten the life of the pump and fuel lines, due to the detergent used in the fluid.

Found what what the noise was, it wasn't valves, or the turbo, it was the tranny! Came out hauling a load home last night....anybody know the cheapest place to get remans?
