APPs sensor bad, clean it?
APPs sensor bad, clean it?
I've read in a few posts where people have fixed thier APPS sensor by drilling a hole in it and spraying it with contact cleaner. My truck is throwing the sensor code and turning on the CEL. I have done the reset procedure but it keeps coming back. I did get the occasional dead pedal a couple times. I would like to try to get a little more life out of it if I can by cleaning it if that has worked for some people. Don't really want to drop $450.00 on a new one. Any comments/ advise? Thanks.
before you drop the money for an OEM one search "timbo01 aftermarket apps" I didn't know about it when i droped $560 for mine at the dealer. Everyone claims it is better than OEM, and if I remember right, it is under $300
I've got three old APPS modules that I've kept around for diag purposes. They all had intermittant idle validation codes stored, but never caused drivability issues....just check engine lights once in awile. They've come in handy over the years. PM me if you are interested in one.

I had some problems with mine about 6 months ago. As soon as i finally realized what was causing it I tried the reset but it didnt seem to help. I soon after bought a used one of here in the classifieds secteion. Very happy with it thats what i would recomend. But i didnt know about the timbo1 part then, and really dont know much about it now. I gues that may be ur best bet especially if you cant find a used one. I def woud pay for it at a dealer though.
