Advanced Auto Parts Hubs

Have any of you guys had any luck with hub and wheel bearing assemblies from Advanced. They can get parts to me tomorrow morning, was quoted a price of $318.00 for drivers side hub. Local dealer wants $540 for same part and can't have it here until Tuesday of next week. Would like to save some coin, but don't want to tear front end apart in a couple of months again. Drivers side bearing locked up, trashed rotor and most likely caliper at the same time. Sounded horrible when unloaded off of roll back. While driving the truck it took an abrupt turn into on coming traffic, managed to get it off to side of road. Guy from the office stopped behind me and said it looked like the wheel was going to fall off. Looks like it bows in probably 1-2" at the top right now as it sits. Freakin one piece bearing and hub design, who ever designed this should be drug into the street and beat down. Hate to say that as I'm an engineer also. Hopefully I'll have decent luck with Advanced parts, I don't have the time to wait for the dealer to get the parts here. TIA

just be careful with the brand because sometimes advanced give you a cheap product unless you ask for something of a better quality/brand

I bought new Timken Bearing/hups from my local independent auto supply. Was less than $400 for both sides. about $360. Timken made in USA.

Ask them who makes the bearings they are selling you. Timken is the Good quality USA bearing co.

Finally got the truck all back together. Replaced both hub assemblies, track bar assembly, tie rods ends, ball joints, driver side brake caliper, universal joints, and front brake pads. Drivers side hub was totally destroyed when wheel locked up. Thought that I should change out passenger side hub while it was apart. Did lots of damage to the bank account. One of my buddies manages the local advanced, and didn't do to bad on part prices. I just had to replace a ton of them. After dropping off to have alignment done, the tire place called and told me that I needed ball joints. Told them to take the truck off of the lift, as the ball joints were about 2 hours old. Took truck across the street and had alignment done. Tracks straight as an arrow now. Overall wasn't to bad.

Also another solution to the bearing assembly dilema is thru Dyna Trac they have a hub replacement kit for the Dana 60 that take the hubs back to the old style that will allow you to replace just the bearings if need be. Im not sure on tne price, but im sure in the long run it would be worth it. I also have a 97 1500 w/110k that is ready for its 3rd set. I know its got a 44 up front, but its the same junk design.
