Hey herb! One of the major symptoms is erratic or no throttle response. I don't think the APPS is part of the Cummins warranty as I'm pretty sure that it is a Dodge part. Somebody out there, correct me if I'm wrong. What is your truck doing that makes you think that the APPS is going south?

First of all, there is no such thing as a "Cummins warranty". Dodge buys the engines from Cummins with no warranty. Dodge then warrantys the engine for 5/100k. That is why you can't go to Cummins for warranty work... you have to go to Dodge. The rule of thumb that my dealer use is: "if it can't run without it, it's warrantable." Following that reasoning, I'd have to say the APPS should be covered since you're not going to get very far without it.

Did they put a graphing scanner or snap on vantage scanner on it to see if it was messing up?

i don't know. it was a data reading computer of some sort that they plugged in under the dash
Picked my "barn sour" truck up from dealer again today (third time this week) . they replaced the APPS today and it actually feels like we may have struck on to something that has helped. It definitly seems to have a lot more get up and go to it.
plugged my new ez edge in to it and it seems to make quite a difference also.
Leaving for Tenn tommorrow afternoon so will be able to tell more after this trip.
Have an appointment to get it back to the dealer next week for stabilizer bar bushings in the front and window channel rubber in the front door.
The dealer has free coffee and popcorn.
