ABS & E-Brake lights??

I was up in the mountains running some trails and my ABS & E-Brake lights came on. Normally if this happens I can tap the brakes or spray the running gear off and they'll go out. I've done all of that and they're still on. There is a sensor mounted on top of the rear axle near the pumpkin that appears to be a part of the brake setup, it seems odd that it would be here as it looks like it goes through the axle, ??? but maybe so. There is a metal guard/shroud in front of it that was pushed up against the sensor, which I straightened out. I unplugged the sensor and it has two pins with thin wire coming out and wrapping to each side of the sensor. It doesn't seem like it is plugging in or seating right at all. Does anyone know if this is the brake sensor? If not where is it? I believe this sensor is broken, but I'm not sure what it does. Thanks!

Yellowhammer,
Look at your RPM gage and see if it is jumping around when you first start moving. If the gage is jumping around, you will have to replace that sensor you were referring to, which is the speed sensor which also monitors your anti-lock break system. I think it's a $60.00 part from the Dodge dealer. Good luck !

Thanks, I'll check that. Kinda dumb spot to put a flimsy plastic sensor on a 4x4....
