99 kdp fix

If you want more excuses to put off dealing with the pin on a '99 just listen to Cummins.
They say the problem isn't statistically significant even on 12 valve.
But then they sell a tab washer, p/n 3958017 - $1.83.
Put another way--- even if you only had a .0001% chance of your pin falling out the odds of happening are better than you winning the lottery.

Last year I came very close to buying a very old 4wd 1 ton 12V.
Guess what the ONLY thing the guy said had ever been repaired since he had it.......
He said something about a dowel pin and case and stuff....at the time I didn't know what he was talking about, but now I do. He was the "statistically insignificant" one, huh.

I think it's all Cin'sDiesel's fault, she got this whole mess started and then once the pot was stirred never heard another word from her. I say we blame it on her and make her responsible for any more bad things that happen to our trucks.

Geico, this one is for you. I emailed TST in referance to there tabbing kit for this problem and below you can read the response.
My Question: Will this kit also work on 1999 24V models, and if so do you also have the seal for the front cover available? Thanks
TST's Response: The Dowel Pin was not found to be a problem with the 99 models. Just the 94-98 models. We do not offer the front seal.
Thanks

I took delivery of my "99" in October of 1998. Obviously, they were out of the old cases by then.

OOHH NO, here it is again. I haven't seen Cin on here since this thread, I think she's chicken. But in reply to the previous question, at this point, IMO there is nobody that can answer the question of do you need to check it without pulling it apart and checking it. It's all a crap shoot.
