I've been toying with the idea of either building up my 47RE or swapping in a manual transmission in my 2001 2500 4x4. I recently came across a 99 4x4 24 valve donor truck. While the rest of the swap seems pretty straightforward, I was curious as to what kind of issues I'll run across with the PCMs between the two trucks. Will my 2001 automatic PCM play nice with an NV4500? Will the truck even start/run/charge without the automatic in it? If not, can I get my PCM reflashed to think its a 2001 NV4500 PCM instead of a 2001 47RE PCM? Has anyone else tried a swap like this?
