24 valve powerless
I have a 99 dodge 3500 cummins. The truck had lost power before and we put a new lift pump and reman injection pump after the whole system when dead. It has a clean air filter and a banks exhaust brake . It has good fuel pressure and only builds 14 lbs of boost going anywhere floored. So my question is what do you think is wrong it just seems powerless even before with a bad stock lift pump it had more power than it currently does.

Have you tried the apps reset. I did this on mine and could not believe the difference it made. The apps reset is simple. Disconnect both negative battery cables and allow it to sit 6 or 8 hours. I let mine sit 8 hours. Reconnect the cables and turn the switch on but do not restart. Mash the accelerator pedal to the floor very slowly, about 1 minute for me. Release the pedal at the same speed. After releasing the pedal crank and drive. Helped with dead pedal and hesitation on my truck.

Check for codes,,,turn key on off 3 times look at odometer and write down any 4 digit numbers and post back up.

Could be a cam sensor, depending on what codes come up. I had one do the same thing. Was a locomotive one day, then the next it wouldn't pull the hat off your head.

I just did the reset on the apps and put a different air filter on it sorry it took me so long to reply but I forgot my password and couldn’t work on the truck until warm weather that we could dig it outta the shed only has 88,000 miles and never seen a winter |

No the petal reset did not help
Ok so I did the reset and the air filter and it didn’t help me out I got researching and I could have a bad map sensor the trip we took it on made theis truck seem like a total dog at the most it built 16lbs of boost I have researched a few things like the map sensor and sprayed ether around the inyercooler to check of loams leaks along with all the pipeing before I tear into the wastegate and map sensor what else could there be I also thought about a boost fooler but what would it help if by the stock standards it’s not performing well. I’d like the truck to be working better when it’s pulling a 16000 lbs load of hay this summer because the hills we have to pull to get it home are quite steep and make the truck have to pull them in 2nd gear if your lucky sometimes first redlined |
Short question- automatic or manual trans?
If auto- there could be a problem of the auto going south and never really loading the engine, so no load=no boost.. .and no power to the wheels. Just trying to cover all bases... |

It’s a nv4500 and 5th gear is welded on since 05 if that matters my dad lost it 2 times and on the 3rd recall he told the dealership he would handle it and Put a tack of weld on the threads |
THe only other thing I have reaserched is the map sensor and I took it out one day and boy was she grymey I cleaned it off and stuck it back in since then the check engine light has been going on and off every other thing you start and drive it. |
We will be taking it to a local performance shop tonight to actually look at a truck for me to buy and maybe con the guy into looking at ours 😂 it’s also a 24v my next question is non related but I have a 12v in my garage with half a million miles on bought it with 2 auto transmissions for $700 my question being can I take this heee p7100 housing and lines and put it on my 99 if the vp44 ever craps the bed again since we put a brand new one on it about 4 years ago and maybe 10,000 miles ago if that so could it be a bad pump we got it was a reman stock not a ho and it seemed to run better with a bad lift pump even before the new pump and air dog |
