2002 Dodge in-tank fuel pump

I have a 2002 dodge 2500 that I need running ASAP. The in-tank pump went out in this truck and I replaced it a few weeks ago. I drove it for about a day and a half and it quit working. I'm getting good power to the plug on the pump, but the pump just does not want to kick on. Ive checked the grounds on the plug, and they seem to be fine. I thought maybe they sold me a faulty pump so I went and got another pump and still no luck. I'm stuck and running out of options, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check the power and ground with a load such as headlight bulb. Sometimes a bad connection will light a test light but will not power up the device due to resistance in circuit. If the test light bulb is bright like direct connection to battery.

I get a little over 12v with a multimeter but it will not light up a test light. I'm not sure of the best place to start looking

The fuel pump grounds on a stud on frame rail in the left rear. Check for loose connections and rust on that stud where the ground is located. I've seen several come loose and cause high resistance there. Check resistance to ground there, should be 0 ohms. Check the connection at left side battery which powers the fuel pump for corrosion, also check inline fuse connection.

Thank you for the info. I finally found where that pump was drawing power from and found it had a bad connection. Someone had added a wire to power it and when they did they used a butt connector and it was pretty corroded and nasty. Thanks again

I never use butt connectors for that reason. Only use soldier and heat shrink tubing, then tape it.
