2001 ecm search

have come to the conclusion that i need to get a new ecm for my 2001 HO 2500. has dead pedal (more like possessed pedal) and po121 code and went thru many tests after replacing apps and all pointing to ecm. my question is where is a good place to buy one? if i go dealer, i would have to trailer it 150 miles as they have to flash that ecm.( also about $1300) there is alot of places online that sell them supposedly plug and play. anybody have good experience from the online vendors? thanks for your help, ed

ECM option

IMO for what it is worth I have read more happy people with no issues when they had to spend more and deal with the dealership vise the online companies. I just went through this myself but went with the dealership as I have a hook up. But in my research I found most people saying stay away from the ECM's in florida based companies?? I did find a company that had good reviews and was actually in the USA and spoke english and was very knowledgeable about ecm's and the B-Series/Dodge trucks. its in Texas.
www.goecm.com give them a call and see for yourself. The prices were great too. I just never used them since I have a hook up with the dealership. I would have went with them tho.

help with ecm

hey, thanks for the reply. called and talked to the folks at go ecm, were plenty knowledgeable and said i could test my ecm first, then rebuild my ecm.(which i liked that idea) went ahead and sent it to them, they said it would be $595 to rebuild mine. also said lifetime warranty. thanks for the help, ed

Find a Cummins dealer. Dodge dealer has to call them to buy it anyway.

Might save you $2-300.

$1200-1400 seems to be normal price.

If ya don't mind Ed - Please let us know how this resolves. How much for the ECM rebuild and what was the turnaround time to get your ECM back from the re builder?

Thanks

Mike

the price i was given was 600 I ship so S/H $ would vary on how fast you want it to get to them. and they told me they would have it repaired and sent back to me within 24 hours of recieving it. I'm sure he is going to have the same results from these guys.

I bought an ECM from a bone yard in AZ after someone jump started with 24 volts , and it had to be taken to the dealers to work with the engine , but it works ok and has been for the last 10 years ,
Best to have your own rebuilt ,
