Re:2000 CTD fuel MPG
Even though you are not looking for horsepower, some have gained mpg with a fueling box, such as an Edge EZ or the like. Personally, I gained maybe 1/2 mpg while towing, but the smile alone is worth it. ;D

Re:2000 CTD fuel MPG
After all the changes I did I get 22.5 empty and 17.5 towing a 6000lb trailer. I did notice a drop in the last couple weeks so my guess is the local stations have changed to winter blend

Re:2000 CTD fuel MPG
Going to 235/85/16's will get you one extra mpg.

Going to 235/85/16's will get you one extra mpg. [/quote] Good advice. Anything you can do to lower wind resistance or rolling resistance is going to help.. Use the smallest tires that will carry your load adequately ( the 235/85r16 is a good recommendation). Try a tire like the commercial grade ones from BFG and Michelin (XPS rib or XPS traction). Decreasing the ride height of the truck will lower wind resistance. Usually, the 275 injectors improve mpg and add about 40hp. The RV injectors are the ONLY engine mod I know of that USUALLY increases MPG. The rest may or may not--it's a crap shoot. Justin |
