2000 24v

MY teacher at school just bought a 2000 24v , 4x4 , 3500 , picked it up tonight, what are some things that should be done right away? simple easy things , i know about the kdp , lift pump etc , but any lil tweaks? and how about some free power upgrades?

get underneath and look at the block just above the oil pan...if you see a "53" stamped on it, start saving money for a new engine down the road

use fuel additive in every tank, check your fuel pressure, and check it often.

I already told him to put gages in it , he's not worried about that yet , he got a warrantry with it , once the warranty is out, he will have gages , he is bringing it into the shop tomorrow for put the 5th wheel hitch in , is there anything i can do while it is in there? free power? (ie , on a 12v , star wheel , afc housing , etc)

Pull the silencer ring out. He will be impressed. No power, but a cooler sound.

The person should start a "Savings Account" for parts and service right now.

24V's are holes in the road that money disappears in.

I have one.

He is not too worried about it for now , he got a warranty with it , and at his own shop/dealership (tractors) he has an ex dodge diesel mechanic working for him , the dealer kept laying him off because there wasn't work , so he left the dealership.

I'm glad I don't have to do that. In 77k mi bought 1 Pusher pump $160
1 Fass system $585
1 Exh. manifold $185
2 sets of frt. brakes $70
1 set frt. rotors $70
2 sets of tires $850

Clutch's and non stock turbos don't count as I sled pull, Original VP (knock on wood) pump wire has been tapped since 5k mi.
