1999 3500 dually brakes
due to a leaking rear seal i will be doing brakes, will this benifit from gm wheel cyl.,if so what is the part no.

no help??????

I have heard of folks being really happy with this mod. I personally don't want any more braking power in the rear. Even with 35x12.5 duals in the rear it seems like the rear likes to lock up first. The ABS offsets this in a panic stop, but I think they are adequate.
Personally were I to do a brake upgrade other than an exhaust brake, I think I'd first consider a 3rd gen front assly, and maybe a rear disc setup. But again, I haven't done either of these mods. Hopefully someone who has will weigh in on this and give you better info. |
I believe the part number is NAPA #37337 but it would be good if you did some searches here and confirmed that.

that is the # i had written down but it is a metric line and dodge is sae.

Check with any of the auto parts stores and ask for a wheel cylinder for a 1995 GMC 1 ton dually. I know that there are a couple different types out there, but it may simply be a quality thing--like "regular" vs. "premium" or something like that. My 2000 truck took the #37337 cylinders with no problems.
Hopefully someone else with a 1999 or earlier truck will chime in soon and report what cylinders they bought. |
