I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins 4x4 with manual 5 speed transmission. I have been having a problem with it locking in neutral when coming to a stop and attempting to back up. It will go into neutral no problem but when I try to put it into reverse it is locked up and will not go into any gear after that until I shut the engine off. Then it will go into any gear just fine. I can then restart the engine, and continue backing up. Does anyone have any suggestions on what may be causing this to happen.

 

Blocker rings? This causes that condition in a 5600.....
