Have a new map sensor to install the new sensor is 27mm I need to know the socket size needed for the old one it is much larger.

I don't know about the size for a 1998 but for an 02, I believe the socket size is a 32mm deep. You might be able to use a 1 & 1/4 but the 32mm is slightly larger than that. I bought a 32mm last year because I wanted to clean the sensor; just haven't got around to doing it yet.

 

my old one came out with a 11/4" but the new one from Cummins was 13/16". I changed the map and iat the other night and what a difference.
