01 transfer pump?
truck died leaving a crossroad--coasted to a stop-was low on fuel but didn't run dry--opened fuel filter it was low-didn't hear transfer pump run but a slight brr and quit--so I changed transfer pump-this morning when it got light I went to start so I could check for leaks--left filter top up to see flow and turned on key but nothing?? where next?

You have to bump the starter for the lift pump to keep running. You should be able to hear it. Mine is dead silent so I ordered a replacement.

As stated above. Put some fuel in the tank. My friends truck died and would not start. Gauge showed a bit over 1/4 tank. We changed lift pumps, no go. Pressure test gauge showed no pressure. Put 10 gal in tank, fired right up.

I had a truck that would run out of gas at half a tank. Turned out the pickup tube was not all the way down in the tank. Repositioned it and it was fine.
