01 5.9 2500 manny tranny swap.

In order to swap my auto for a manny, I’ve heard that I’d need an H.O. motor so I’d be putting out the correct power, engine to tans. How true is this?

100% pure and total hog wash.
I have done or helped dozens and dozens of people do auto to manual swaps and that is a big old fib someone told you.

5 speed manuals and auto's were non HO engines. 6 speeds got the HO, a whopping 10 more brake horsepower. A neck brace was strongly recommended by the surgeon general when purchasing an HO......

They also have 45 ft/lbs more torque as well!
