Wix or Fleet Guard.

Hey All question which is a better filter Wix or Fleet guard I have heard good things about both so which is best? second question is what do I need to do to my truck for these kind of rims to fit properly?
These aren't the actual units but they look exactly like them and I think I can get em for pretty cheap.

IMO either filter will be fine but I run Baldwins.

On the wheels you'll need a set of 1.5-2" spacers to make em look right.

Wix has mixed reviews in the diesel community. Some love them, some hate them (ME). Fleetguard is one of the highest quality filter manufacturers on earth. Easy choice.

IMO Fleetguard, Baldwin and WIX/NAPA in that order. I think these are all quality filters for sure and you won't go wrong with any of them. I've used them all but now just use Fleetguard since I can get a case of them for a good price.

When I'm able to find the FG stratapore case for cheap, I use them. Otherwise, I use Wix.

Well it sounds as if Fleetguard is the stuff to use and if Cummins makes the filter it has to be good!

Exactly right. Made by Cummins, recommended by Cummins, one of the three highest quality filter manufacturers on earth (Cat, Fleetguard, Donaldson).

Made by Cummins because they bought them, obviously saw a way to get something cheaper(filters for there motors) and make cash at the same time.

Recommend by the, well duh cause they own them, do you use only Mopar diff fluid, and tranny fluids, what about engine oil, get my point.

Great reply. Super informative, thanks a ton for adding that.

Cummins recommending something is MUCH different than Mopar recommending something.

I use them because I have seen the results of exhaustive filter media and body construction tests. Fleetguard is one of the best filters available. Do you disagree, or otherwise have anything productive or thoughtful to add?

I've ran fleetguards and wix filters on trucks and our equipment, they've both seemed to be pretty good. But like others mentioned, most cummins recommend fleetguards.

One thing I have heard though is that fleetguard has moved to mexico so I'm wondering if their quality has gone down or not.
