Wiring for a camper
Any suggestions on a 12 volt circuit that's only hot with the key on to trigger a continuous duty solenoid? Sure would be nice if fuse block was under the hood!

Here's what I did. I pull a double with lotsa lights. Power in is through 60 amp fuse near the battery and 6 G wire. About the only trouble I've had was fuses shaking loose on Colorado Rocky Mountain back roads,
The relay box is mounted inside the frame just behind the cab. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.die...d706036d07.png https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.die...c4a01caa36.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.die...c27bf844e9.jpg |

As usual, I'm envious of your overly neat wiring...You should be ashamed of yourself for making me feel unworthy......Ben
Actually, there's so much crammed into that 8x8 box that it wouldn't be serviceable if it wasn't pretty neat. Had a wiring fault in the bass boat, where all the auxiliary trim switches went dead. took me about 45 seconds to isolate it to the broken connector. Color codes and proper harnessing pay off well when fishing time is at stake. |

Yeah, the console I just built for my truck is stuffed also, but it doesn't look that neat either...And it sure as heck isn't color coded...It's more of a calico, or a box of many colors, to paraphrase Miss Parton...Maybe I'll get some more boxes, and make it prettier in time, but right now it works...:whyme:...Ben

I can get pretty anal about wiring, but I don't have much trouble with it.

That is some seriously purty wiring j_martin. Definitely set a high bar to aspire to. You haven't by chance rewired the factory mess under the hood have you? I'd like to see that if you have! I like your note about using power feed that's only on in the run position. I don't want the frig when in 12v mode to be drawing power from truck battery when truck is not running.
