So, it never starts off in first? Even after a neutral to drive shift? But it shifts ok if you do it manually right?

Yeah that's what happening. I'm really hoping it's just the governor valve.

I think the N to D shift would rule out the governor. I believe your problem is in the valve body.

Okay, I had a shift kit installed in the new valve body. They could have messed something up.

Just got a call from the shop. The governor valve is hung up. The pressure was at 35 when in drive...

Well that would have to be more than hung up, more like they put in backwards. But at least they found something.

A week for the obvious? Sure glad it wasn't something tricky.
If they try to bill you, remind them that they were the last ones to have their hand on said guvner thingie.

That's what I'll say. They didn't re seal the t case right either. So a combined 8 hours of labor they could of saved doing it right the first time

Picked the truck up from the shop yesterday. I guess there was a metal shaving holding up the governor valve. 1-3 shifts firm. Having a lockup converter on these truck are amazing!! Thanks everyone for all the help

It's great. No better feeling than being locked up in overdrive especially with a triple disc billet comverter. I'll probably have a noticeable difference in fuel economy.
