Will a np241 from a second gen bolt up directly to a Getrag?
I know an nv4500 and a Getrag will both work with a NP205, so will either also bolt to a 29 spline np241 with no issues? What about an np271? I know the seal on an nv4500 interferes with the Getrag’s splined coupler, would anything in the getrag’s tailhousing interfere with an np241? Thanks

I guess is it would be a bolt up thing with no issues.
The 4x4 linkage mount and shifter rod would need to be address of course. |

The 4x4 shifter bracket is mounted to the transmission. The shifter rod then runs to the T-cases in both Getrag and NV-4500 set ups.

with regard to linkage, I had to cut and shorten the linkage when I had the getrag bolted up to my np205 since I had a oe 727 with my truck I use the shs adapter that handles the spline conversion.
now with regards to the np241 I would assume it be the same situation with the bolt up and youll need to relocate and shorten the required linkage and placement. otherwise test fit time |

They both have a passenger drop NP-205 T-case. Using a Getrag with a DRIVER side NP-241 T-case will leave you with needing to move the 4x4 shifter bracket, linkage and rod to the other side of the transmission where there are no holes on the transmission it mount it up. That is where the custom bracket, mounting and work will need to happen. |
you are right Oliver thank you for clearing that up.
