Just back to phx from Show Low with out my truck Guess what happened while pulling the Rim Hwy 260 from Payson to Show Low.

bent the turbo shaft for the second time after installing exhaust manifold and 16cm housing first time not so bad was in town and was able to park truck and pull turbo found exhaust restrictions and repalced muffler. Does anybody else know what can cause this?

No Ha Ha LOL that is the jeep trail I had to go up to place that pig trailer on my dad's land.

 

i had similar smoke with a BROKEN turbo shaft. it broke and then the oil from the turbo supply line ran through my intercooler into my intake = lot's of stinky white smoke . . . maybe the shaft broke this time?

No didn't break the shaft . most went through exhaust side straight out the muffler. some went through air side. Did not find metal shavings but the oil is pasty like fine metal powder. Will I need to clean intercooler and what would be the best way to do it Mineral Spirits?.
Also what causes the shafts to bend like this? This is the second time. Need to fix it so I can tow with out losing the turbo.

 

Could've been from when you installed the new housing. You really have to be careful when removing and install the housings. Tolerances are very tight!
