I just looked at all the 1st gen photo's in you guy's sent in and noticed some good lookin rigs with/without the ram's head hood ornament. What year/models came with them and why or why not. Please expalain. I think their cool. Mine didn't come with one. Can someone post a good, close up for us to look at. The factory ones are the best vs. the fakers like J.C. whitney with lighted eyes.....

 

They (as in Dodge ) Don't produce them any more. Had to go to E-Bay to find one. 93 was the last year you could get one on and was a kinda special order thing I think. You had to ask for one. I just like the look of the ram on my hood and plan to keep it there.

I got it from the dodge dealer

My thought was I always liked the looked so go get one..
I looked at used ones and they were wore out and nasty..my dealer had many in stock Brand new..

But to get one I had to ask for one from a Ram Charger

Bought mine from JC Whitney. Looks like Bruisers, except the eyes light up amber when the lights or parking lights are on.

 

I have one that the base was broke on. Drilled it out to use as a gear shift ****. check ebay like they said, or dodge dealers around have them too.

 

I got mine from JC whitney. It is just the regular one without the light up eyes. The thing I like about that one from JC Whitney (aside from the price) is that the base is solid, not spring mounted like the original (at elast mine was) good luck trying to rip mine off the hood

 

I dumped mine on ebay a while ago. If I remember correctly, It sold for about $30. I guess that I am not "1st gen" enough!

 

I like them, but will not put one back on, so someone can rip it off. With my luck the hood would get damaged.

 

I woulda parted with some change for a ram or Mack bulldog but none fell in my lap. I scored this at a heavy truck salvage and really like it on there. It was marked "REO 1948" but with that "A" on front I'd put my $$$ on Autocar who made some fine extra heavy and special eqpt trucks in the past, ...

 

My dad, god rest his soul, had a friend wire his to the horn. Give the ram a tug, then change your shorts. Never lost it again.

Of course if I did that to my truck, the guy would probably put his size thirteen through my grill.
