Where to get governor weights for 618 swap

I have been searching around trying to find the governor weight kit for the 618. Apparentally Dodge stopped making the kit and the dealer can't get the kit either!
I have called a bunch of different transmission parts shops and nothing.
Where are you guys getting this weight kit?
Thanks,
Derik Harris

Call these guys Transmission Parts USA 239-790-5401 I don't see the gov listed but they might be able to get you one. If they don't have it you will have to go to a wrecking yard and dig through the trans core bins for a while. Is yours bad or just trying to change the way it shifts? or do you have to change it to do the swap.

I'll give them a shot.
I have a 618 out of a 95 V-10 so I need to change the weights over to make it shift like a diesel, from what I read.
Thanks for the help.

A friend of mine had a v-10 and it seems to me that @WOT it shifted at about 4200 rpm, so I think that if you put the 3200 spring in and set the TV cable right you might have enough line pressure to get things shifting with enough pressure to keep from burning it up, you will find out quickly if not . The v-10 makes about 450 ft lbs @ 2500 so I would think that it should be OK. It is a lockup converter too right? you will need some other stuff to make it work right.

Ya, there is a ton of info for this swap on this website, it is awesome.
I need the 3 pin connector and some switches for the wires that come off of the connector to control the lockup TC and overdrive override.

So if my dad's tranny is a 618 that means it comes stock with a lock up converter??? If so where to go to get a good one for it?

looks like Transmission Parts USA doesn't even carry them...
I may just have to go to a junk yard and get them out of an old trans.
Anybody have any other suggestions?

Dave said that he makes the inner weight, but not the outer weight.
I guess it is off to the wrecking yards for me.

Dave came through for me, he had both of the weights.
I just removed the old trans and I am getting ready to put the new 47RH in now, but I have a problem.

I have a 2 wd 47RH from a V-10, it looks like I am missing an adapter housing that connects the transfer case to the transmission... do I need an adapter housing from a 94-95 47RH 4x4 to connect this transmission up to the NP 205?

Thanks for all of the help!

You need to swap the overdrive sections, there is no adaptor, theres a 2wd and a 4x4 overdrive section.
I talked to Dave about using the OD section from my A518 and mating it to a 47RE I have in the shop, then use a 47RH valve body to make a 47RH. He indicated it should bolt right up.
Take the OD section off your A518 and the OD off the 47RH and compare them. You won't need governer weights now because you are going to use your A518 overdrive section now. I would have it rebuilt if you have any kind of miles on your A518.

I have a 1990. I don't have an overdrive unit. Can't I just get a overdrive unit with housing off of a 4x4 47RH?

Yeah, getting a 4x4 housing would be your best bet.

I'll give you guys an update. After calling a ton of junk yards all of the relied the same, "We don't tear apart our transmissions for parts!" After calling only a few transmission shops I found one that had the parts that I was looking for, so this weekend she should be running down the road.
Thanks for all of the help.
