I don't remember if this has been addressed before but who has bought aftermarket wheels stock size or larger for a 3/4 ton and likes them? I'd like to get a little sportier look, like maybe 18" rims? With that hugh cummins motor I need load carrying capacity as well so the choices are rather narrow. My ideal (so far that is) wheel that I'm thinking is like a 18" 265/75 16. That would put it at around 33 inches tall. I searched on the internet and it doesn't give me the results I like. I'd like to know what brands and what companies you've bought wheels from are good for us Dodge brothers. If I had to stay with a 16 inch, then I like something like 287/75 16 tire. Stock rims are only 6 or 6.5 inches wide, so how wide of a rim can I put on my truck? Peeking at the inside clearance of the tire to suspension components shows not much of a wider rim will fit. Anyone who has membership on the other site (sites) if they could ask as well, I'd appreciate it.
thanks,
Brad.

Are those ultra rims? I think Eagle makes one that looks the same as well. Summit racing catalog had them in 16x7s looked sweet, then I was gonna go 265/75s.
On the 18" rims, I have never carred for the big rim with a rubber band around it looks that seems to be so popular today.

the wheels are ultra 164s, the truck has a 4" suspension lift 8" wheel no rubbing.
I had 33/12.50-16.5 on 10" wheels and thouse would rub once in a while off road mostly crossing a ditch at an angle ... the truck rides alot better with this set up ,and the toyo 305s come in a ten ply.(no luck keeping 8 plys together)for hard service use.

I have the eagle alloy 16x8 on my truck. And am running 285/75r16 tires on them with no lift.I did have the front springs redone though.I have some pics of the wheels and tires in my gallery.I didn't wash the truck when I took the pics so it all looks pretty dirty. But will give you an idea of what they look like.
I'm running 16x7 MB Motoring wheels with 235x85s. I had to trim the plastic fender flares slightly because the tire would just rub when turning (due to the wider wheel and different backspacing). A wider tire would require a little more trimming but shouldn't be much of an issue.

Those are nice looking rims Dan!! I wonder if I can fit 285/75/16 if I had the Moog 7226s springs up front. The 4wd guys don't have the problem us 2wd guys do! Any other ideas?
You might be able to fit them - I could probably use a new set of springs in mine. Between the airbags and 13 year old coils it has a pretty good rake to it.
One thing to watch for on aftermarket wheels is the weight rating. Most aluminum ones are rated sufficiently for our trucks, but most aftermarket steel ones only have 1800-2100 lb ratings - not nearly enough if you tow or haul heavy loads. The ones I have are rated around 3200 pounds each, and were about the least expensive aluminum wheels I could find. Check with Discount Tire to see what they go for in your area.

I run 35/12.50/18 BFG's on 18x10's with a 6 inch lift on mine. If you like the bigger wheel look, you could maybe squeeze a 275/65/18 on an 18x9 or 18x8 under a stock truck. That size comes in a high load rating too.
