What's the stock IP good for (rwhp)

I'm wondering what the stock IP is good for rwhp wise. I'm not intersted in a 14 mm head. I know about the turning the screws and all that good stuff. I'm wondering what injetors, turbo/s, other little things.

If there's already a thread with this info could some post a link.

Mine's stock.

How stock is stock? You mean untouched, or other internal mods, just not the 14mm head? I think about 500 hp is what they are good for on a VERY well thought out and tuned combonation. Most people wind up with about 400-ish hp at the max.

by stock I mean no 14mm head or 4mm cam plate. Otherwise, whatever you can do to the stock IP.

what Dave meant was his pump is a 12mm head....its by no means "bone stock" (meaning factory specs) :D

I understand that. I just wanted to clarify. Seems like when ever you ask a question like this someone comes in talking about some super duper fancy aftermarket thing-a-ma-jig that the original post wasn't ever about.

I'm after numbers and what mods where down to get there on a stock 12mm.

I believe BC847 puts down 447 whp with a stock IP.

IMO, I wouldn't even consider the 14 mm H/R. The reports on it are too mixed. Just step up to a P-pump and be done with it.

i can make 265 cc of fuel through my pump at 800 rpms, 200cc's at 2000rpms, so do what you can with that, mine is about absoutly maxed for a 12mm head, and i heard reports of 2.2 to 2.5 hp per cc of fuel. so with the right turbo/turbo's, you could make a good solid 450ish hp.

Crossy's son 01-03-2010 07:14 PM

"archer39" is at 393hp and that was on a stock fuel pin and stock pump.....he'll chime in

JAyers 01-03-2010 07:26 PM

I did 422hp on dunbars dyno with a maxed 12mm pump and a set of 6x.018's along time ago. The 6x.018's are too big for a 12mm pump....6x.016's and a good shape 12mm pump should net an easy 450+hp.

Thanks for the info so far guys. I'm thinking of doing set of twins similar to the BD but with my own twist.

The Ppump thing is what I was referencing too in post #6. I own a Pump'd pickup and will do with that what can be down. My CrewCab, for the time being, will be VE and I would like to get out of it what I can.

Benjamin b2 01-03-2010 07:58 PM

mods to the pump include, afc lever gone, full power screw cranked to the point of runaway, 3200 spring with 2-3 coils removed and made the same length, a fresh h&r and 1/2 inch lines to the main supply port at the front of the pump, and put a snap ring on the ip front seal and put 30+ psi to it

Yeah sorry, I didn't fully read your original post.

PDR claims their "hot rod" VE pump is good for 450 rwhp on fuel only, but of course you need to have all your ducks in a row, i.e. injectors, turbo(s) headwork, etc, etc.

I have done 472 fuel only.
With a GOOD ported head and the planets in alignment, I think 550 hp is/will be possible with a single turbo.

That's cool. I just want to compare apples to apples. If some folks would be willing to post up what there dyno numbers are and what they did it would help everyone. I know some of the stuff is secret squirel, but some info would be great.
