What's a 727 worth?

Any guesstimates? Looking at one with "112,000" on it. Stock converter, with flexplate, starter, and block adapter.

How bad do you want it? If I were looking for an automatic for a Cummins I would strongly suggest a 4 spd OD unit. The stock OEM or equivalent converter is weak at best and the flexplate of any 1st gen CTD should be upgraded to the 94' and up flexplate or SFI unit. My two cents, take it for what it's worth...

That's kind of what I was thinking, If I need to upgrade the flexplate and converter I don't want to put a whole lot into a "core". I want to build a truck like jugheads so a 727 is all I need.

You can get a flexplate new from Cummins for just over $100. A better than stock converter between $360-500.00. Not too long ago I bought a master kit with Red Eagle clutch's and Kolene Steels for under $100. And a Transgo valve body reprogram kit for around $60 if I remember right, CRS sometimes...

For the Cummins I think you really need the 4 spd auto. With the 727 the engine runs too high rpm even with the 3.07 gears and tall tires, and as most already know the 3.07 axle is a throw away if something bad happens inside.
