Is it possible to convert it back to a cummins input and to 4x4?

I've heard the bellhousing tabs are different between the dodge and cheby 4500 but I'm not sure

 

i asked the same ? and everyone said that the bearings and input shaft wont hold up behined th cummins

 

I THINK that the transmission for the cummins has a larger bore for the input shaft bearing. Either way, you would have to buy a new main-shaft and tail housing assembly to convert to 4x4. Swapping the main shaft is basically rebuilding the transmission.

It is not worth more than core value to you, IMO.

 

hey mike, keep in mind the 4500 mainshaft, should be part of your investment, upgrading to the slotted keyway, uses a lockwasher to hold the 5th gear on, advance adapters has the bellhousing that allows your original clutch, i get deals on input gears from a trans rebuilder in oregon, you want their number?
