What is the truck worth ?

A guy near me is trying to sell me a 1989 D-350. The truck is stock, 134,000 original miles, 727, mint interior, 80 gallon tank in bed, and a bunch of other extras. Solid truck just hauled race cars to and from the track. The only issue if you want to say is that he hit a deer and messed up the passenger side fender, headlight assembly, and bumper but is still totally driveable and doesn't look bad. He is asking $3,500.00 ........ Fair price ?

i always have a lot of reservation of the actual mileage on the 89 & 90 Dodge trucks unless it's from the original owner. I see a lot of old Dodges with the 99,999.9 odometers advertised with less than 100K miles or "just over 100K" that look more like they are on the way to 200K or more. I have a 90 Dually that I bought a couple of years ago that I have no idea of how many miles it has on it. Previous owner had it "mileage exempted" when he bought it off the original owner about 10 years ago. The truck was run once or twice a week at the most to pull a small trailer with a walk behind ditch digger at his rental company. So does my truck have 90K, 190K, 290K? I have no idea. Just be extra cautious on the 89 & 90 especially if you are basing any of your value on the odometer mileage.

I would think that it is a fair price but I would take it for a ride to make sure everything is tight and doesn't have any unexplainable noises.

Trebor you can find out as long as your truck came from pa. You have to lput the mileage down on the reg renewal every year. You can get the records for the truck from the state just go to a local notary and ask them.

My '90 has a 6 digit odometer. Looks original.

Yea 89's are the only year that have the 5 digit. 90's have a 6 digit.

Look up NADA value. That's what financial institutions use for loan value. Sounds like a real fair price though. I paid $5800 for mine with 56000 miles on it, and its non-LE, 2.5 yrs ago.

Yup, 89 and back. Oldtimers must be setting for in! [laugh]

I didn't think they could go that far back. Truck was originally from Florida. I may turn it into a donor truck for a second crew cab dually project if I ever get the first one done.
