What Shift Kit for 727
Ok, so this morning the rooster comb in my trans decided to just let the shifter smoothly move wherever it wants. I've no no clear indication when switching from one gear to the next. With that said it's time to open up the trans and replace whatever has broken or fallen out. I figure while I'm in there I'd install a shift kit as well. Problem is I've got no idea what shift kit to order. I've got no intentions of pulling anything other than the pan and valve body so a complete rebuild is out of the question. Any suggestions?

Usually the comb part of the rooster comb is loose on the shaft allowing the comb to sag. It drops enough for the ball and spring to fall into the pan. You may be able to re-peen it or get a used one. The one in my dually is from a sixties era 727.
