Is a 618 a stock auto for a 93 w250 CTD?? I see 518's but the rebuild slip from the tranny shop said 618. IF it is is it good news, bad news or anything else.
Thanks,

I doubt it has a 618(47RH) in it, stock auto trans is the A518 non-lockup style. Look at the bell housing adapter on the engine, if its about an 1" thick its an A518 non-lockup, if its around 2" thick it is a 47RH (A618) lockup style trans. Another way to tell is by the connector on the trans, there's 2 connectors. Both will have a 3 wire connector for the neutral safety/reverse switch. The other connector will be either 2 wires for the 518 or 3 wires for the 47RH.
Hope this helps.
