Probably a good sign that we all forgot to stay up late and get drunk. Or that we are all old farts maybe???
I still like tent camping and at 59 (in two weeks) can still sleep on the ground. I actually fall asleep many a night laying on the floor in front of the wood stove with the dogs and a book. Now that the kids are on their own, we have less opportunities to go camping now though...
Skunk ape - had to look that one up. Good thing you only heard it and didn't see it - or feel it...
I'm 55, and I wouldn't have a hard time sleeping on the ground, as long as I was accompanied by a hot looking younger lady to keep me warm.
(Psss... Don't tell my wife, as she would just kill me knowing I would sleep on the ground without her nearby )
In all honesty, 2 beers, and I'm falling asleep at the kitchen table after dinner.
Drove around today for about 3 hours. Weather was foggy, misting and yuk, but I was fine in the brick.
Sold a job, looked at another, had some a hole woman try to cut me off, then give me the finger because I wouldn't let her in, going around me on the right. Entitlement seems to be a big problem here in the armpit of the USA.
Wiper's suck. Anyone have a better quality wiper blade they like ? These things don't work well at 60+mph, as they lift off the windshield. Anco, Michelin, bla bla bla.
All seem to be junk after about a month sitting on the glass.
Ordered a Lisle mechanic's stethoscope today. Need to listen to the alternator on the White Trash limo. Something is also making noise on the Cummins. The tensioner is jumping. So it is the tensioner, or the alternator.
Tman, I've switched to the solid winter blades. I get them at NAPA, not sure the brand though. They don't conform the best while cold but fine once they warm up. Can't say how they do on the turnpikes though, I drive like an old man so 70-75mph is as high as I get when on the interstate.
My future son-in-law taught me a neat trick a while back though. He uses wiper fluid with Rain-X and that stuff is worth the money. Windshield stays cleaner, water beads and don't need the wipers near as much/often.

Haha, funny you should say that.
I've always used the rubber sheathed winter blades from Napa, but I've also used the michelins and Anco's as well. I bet they're all made in the same factory. None of them seem to last very long without hardening up, but planned obsolescence is key, right ?
My wife went to work this am, and before she left I warmed up the car for her, and cleaned the windows. I sprayed on the Rainx so that she doesn't have any issue seeing out the side curtain windows and the back one. THe front, as you said, uses less time to clear with it on there. Works great on the side mirrors as well.
You can wipe the rubber sheathing with the rainx (or silicone spray on a rag) as well, as it helps repel freezing snow sticking to it. Our weather here sucks, as it's always a mushy, wet slop mix that freezes, thaws, freezes. Too much variation along the shoreline for temps.
Rain X in the windshield washer fluid is worth the extra buck or two.
I have driven home more than one '72-'93 Dodge truck with no working wipers after the bushings fell apart over the years. Learned to was nice to keep a little bottle of Rain X concentrate in the truck.
Ordered up some engine parts, gaskets ETC for the 2wd Ramcharger build this week.
Time for me to learn some p-pump tuning tricks. Shooting for 400+ HP in a nice streetable RPM range.
Using a 62/68/12 turbo. I have never built any motor with a larger than stock HX-35 turbo.

Remove your belt and then spin the alternator, water pump and tensioner and see if any one of them feels off, or is making crunch bearing noises.

.
I used to run the Rain-X wiper fluid but in the last couple years, at least up here in Canada, I've noticed that it doesn't bead and sheet like it used to. So I just put the concentrate window treatment on now and run regular fluid.
As for wiper blades i used to get the Michelin ones from Costco every year but they no longer have the correct fitting or design to fit the wiper arms on my truck.
That battery disconnect is a cool feature/theft deterrent Besonderes! And remote hood release is good insurance.
FINALLY made room in my "shop" to pull mine in for some much needed deferred maintenance/repairs. Started right up even though she's been sitting for months with only a brief warm up (and drive several hundred feet or so to get everything moving) every couple weeks or so.
Got passenger side hub back off for the new rotors, calipers and lines; now off to the driver's side. I looked at the receipt, March 2019, that's how long I've been putting this off. Not because I didn't want/need to but - "time"...
I have a whole list of "to-dos" (on a big piece of cardboard in Sharpie that hangs on the shop door as a reminder) and my plan had been to get it all done at once (cause if I already have the hub off for new rotors so then I might as well dive a little deeper into the king pin & u-joint right???) and I think that was my psychological block. While enjoying quarantine over the holidays and negative temps I had time to muse and decided to just fix the main/big problems FIRST (dragging calipers/compromised rotors), then as time and temps allowed, hit the priority areas (fuel tank straps, drivers king pin & u-joint, seal/paint cab gutter) and then finally, maybe someday, eventually the "want to" stuff (which I also have) like the double deep tranny pan, stereo & speakers, working tailgate latch, adjust transfer case lever, weld up passenger seat bracket and on and on and on...
Oh, and on the positive side, while I was in the passenger wheel well, I looked up and saw - rot, at the top of the inner fender edge (probably disguised from the outside by the molding we all argue about)! My first battle with body rust on a 30 year old truck so I guess I shouldn't be surprised - or complain. And something else to add to the LIST...
Finally got around to fixing the passenger window after a summer of mama complaining about using the jumper pak to raise and lower the window. Thanks to riki5156 for getting me the switches I needed.A happy Mama is a happy hou

I like the jumper wire for the window motor on the passenger floor. I made one of those too, to get pulled electric power windowed doors to work with the jumper pack easier.
Nothing yet it is still dark out I like the idea of the what did you do to... thread.

Yea for sure when I was putting the truck together I wasn’t taking any chances that the windows didn’t work after I got everything together. It’s also nice to take to the junkyard to make sure the motor works before you buy them.
