The reason I asked is Rustolium makes a product called Rust Reformer which supposedly makes the rust turn into primer and leaves the surface primed for paint.

Swapped out the two flat rear tires on the dually W-350 plow truck for some ones that hold air. I am trying to get ready for winter and snow.

Yeah, I've used that in the past. The black is the change over from iron oxide to an inert iron tannate, with primers added in there to help bonding the new top coat. It also contains carbon black, which I assume adds to the color effect.

I've tried lots of different products. Nothing, other than sandblasting stops it for very long. It's a long term maintenance issue, I guess.

Yeah I should get on servicing Sno-ball for another winter of work. Have to replace the Hyd fluid in the plow, floor mounted hi/lo beam switch is stuck on high, grease the drive train and few other things.

Slipped a pair of these on the captain's chairs:

https://www.duluthtrading.com/bucket...ar-seat-covers

I bought a different set 6 years ago, not as nice, but still made from "fire hose" canvas. They started ripping at the bolsters. Contacted the company and they said they'd credit me their cost! So for a little extra, I got these new ones. Fit good and "feel" good so far.

Nice when a company stands by their product. I didn't even ask for it. I was just inquiring if that was normal after 6 six years of light use (I only drive my truck when I need a truck and even then, treat it like the investment it was/is). They didn't even ask for pictures, just said they were out of warranty but send them back and they would credit me!

I swapped out the wh1c with an hx35 on my '90. So far it "feels" the same with about 200 deg drop in EGTs at WOT.
