Gutted my FSS, dumped out the fuel filter, bled the injectors. OH! Got brand new tires on Monday, broke down on the way home, hence the FSS and stuff.

It POURED here today! 2” of rain.

Like my “Garage”?

Looks like it rains hard water where you live.

We’ve been having a major cold snap, and then last night/today it warmed up to around 45° and poured on us. It’s a mess! My basement is soaked, I was soaked... not a lot of fun. Oh, well.

Been doing that to us all winter this year....get nice and cold, then snow a few inches, then warm up and melt and/or rain, then promptly freeze the next day. Yeah it's a friggin mess, a hockey team could use my yard as a practice rink.

After a good thaw and a bunch of rain yesterday, it has been snowing on and off all day.
The plow truck has been getting lots of use.
Twice yesterday clearing up the wet, sloppy stuff and once again this afternoon pushing around the fresh dust on the frozen crust.

Continuing my rebuild of my "spare" starter that Oliver sent me a few weeks back.

Since it saved my caboose, I figured I'd give it a new lease on life. Internals weren't as bad as the original one that I rebuilt and put back in the brick, but none the less, it was still in need of repair.

Since it was so rusted ( the casing ) I figured I'd completely disassemble it (removed the field coils) and send the housing out to be powder coated. Well the guys messed it up for me, and powder coated everything, including the inside of the motor housing where the field wiring goes. Well, that doesn't fly, so I ordered a new field coil housing. I didn't want clearance issues, or stuff heating up on hot summer days, and getting all over the armature. I guess my field coil housing will make a nice fake flower vase, eh ?

1st gen flower vase. What next ? Dodge printed on my sheets and pillow cases ? NAH ! that would be crazy !

New Solenoid end cap, and bearing installed on armature.

Powder coated crinkle finish now to be used as a flower vase

Original solenoid end cap, and new old stock new one.

New Bearing on armiture

Why not use a fine grit cylindrical flapper disc to remove the powder coating? Looks great regardless.

Over the last few days we have gotten a few inches of snow here and there, so been out plowing three times to keep things clear.

That PC is very difficult to remove. They coated the ends, which prevents reassembly due,to parts tolerances.

They offered to redo the parts, but it was easier ordering a new field coil assembly abd housing already put together. I took apart the field coils from the housing, and ive yet to find any information on the specialized adhesive tape that holds the fielof coils against the inner wall of the housing. Seems to be some sort trade secret crap.

Just wanted to finish it up, as its been disassembled for,a couple weeks, and the PC company didn't charge me either for their screw up.

Glad to see that starter I sent you is getting a new lease on life.

Come on, you liked the Dodge bedding package pictures that I sent you of my Dodge bro. in AK. bedroom.
It may be a little crazy, but the fun kinda crazy.

okay.. I admit it. The dodge bed sheets were cool, but the Rams head was a bit over the top.

Lol
