Ahhhhh! A Monty Python reference, I love it. The club is growing, we also have Oliver, on at least one of his rigs and Bruce in SoCal. It is a small but influential group of really wise people. I'm 63 and I just ran a 5k run in Hermosillo on Sunday. There was a guy, 78 years old, that did the 5k in just over 21 minutes. That was after running about 8k to get to the race. I won't even say my time, but lets say that 7 minute miles are about what I ran when I was 21...Mark Oh yeah, I almost forgot Tman.

How could I forget you T? Not possible. I am 158 pounds of raw power as of this morning, mostly just raw . I am slowly disappearing. My maximum weight was around 190, but that was the result of fire station cooking after being a starving college student. When I made captain in 1985, I went to a real busy fire station where I was the oldest at 29. I realized that I couldn't lead anyone if I couldn't even keep up with them, so I started running. I never stopped, except a few breaks for various illnesses and injuries. Even when I couldn't really run, I would still put on my running stuff and go out the door, even if I could only run a half block. The helped me stay in the habit for when I recovered...Mark
I got the old '92 yard plow out today to......plow the yard.
We got about 6 inches of wet heavy snow and tomorrow they are calling for a low of 5 F, so I figured I would plow it before it turned into solid "cement".
Friday they are calling for 4-8 inches again.
It looks like winter is here.

We got 5 or 6, but it is dry fluffy snow. Went down to 8 degrees last night.
If it was light and fluffy I would not have bothered plowing it.
My shop roof slid and if I didn't get to it before it set up it would stay there all winter, or until I got my neighbor over here with his mini bull dozer.
My truck is still in the trans shop. For once, I'm glad winter usually comes in LATE December, or even into January. I need to drive the crap out of the truck once I get it back..
As long as they don't damage anything doing the R&R, that is..... UGH.... I hate having anyone touch my ride, other than me.
Got mine to fire up with no grid heater, stock timing and a single battery at 20*. Definitely a big difference between 30* and 20* on the start up when I leave work at 7am. I’m currently searching for a gas truck to drive while I do some work on the 73
I say the big difference is going from -20F to -30F. That is when small problems, become big issues I have noticed.
Fuel gelling, fuel line leaks, turn into a no start issue and old hydraulic lines - power steering and clutch lines start blowing up.
That and your battery [s] needs to be good at those temps.
Had to start mine at 12° without the block heater. I was surprised it lit right off. May be the different IP. Use to not start below 20° unless it was plugged in.
Finally got the Diamond Eye 4" exhaust installed. Haven't put it through its paces yet. Did notice better throttle response and maybe less smoke. Need to get it out and exercise it some. Next is getting the 60lb valve springs in. That will be after Thanksgiving.

We had the same thing here yesterday.....warm wet snow and dumped a couple inches, then went to deep freeze last night so it's hard as rock now! Well at least it's only a coupe inches so Sno-ball can get through that eventually.
I finally bought a K&N air filter for my rig. Installed it a few minutes ago. This is after I parked the truck in the garage with out leaving it in gear or the brake applied. Well I leaned against the truck and it rolled out of the garage onto the sloped part of the drive way and I couldn't stop it! I rolled all the way down to the street picking up speed as it went. It rolled across the street and hit the curb on the other side and kept going. Luckily it didn't damage anything when it hit the wall. The hood was open so it put a nice big scratch in it when it hit the door opener. Luckily there was nobody else coming down the street to witness this bit of stupidity. I didn't see anyone else so I jumped in the truck and drove it back into the garage like nothing happened.
My windshield washer tank had some crap on it like a thousand cobwebs so I took it off and cleaned it all up. Te plastic screen had a hole in it so I pit some shoe-goo on it to plug the hole and I'm waiting for it to dry.
