What color to paint my motor??

I just picked up my motor and tranny from a friend of mine and it needs a good steam cleaning and a paint job.
The motor has 134k on it and a fuel pin.
It was pulled out of a 250 and the tranny was freshened up around 5000 mi ago

It's new home is going to be in a '41 Plymouth 2 door sedan
The frame is from a '76 dodge d100 2wd that was an old navy truck and is in good shape for an upstate ny truck

The car is going to be a rat rod build and not sure on what color the body will be but I want the motor to stand out the most. I'm sure it will when it's going down the road but just wanted some input from y'all

Sorry not having any picks yet. I will get some up tomorrow when I get them on my comp.

All my engine are Gloss Black if i have had them out. Cars and boats.
You could go gray and then clear coat it.

NOT !

How about a funky Lime Green since it's going to be a rat rod.. ? Gloss black will be difficult to see the oil leaks, if there ever are any.... although it looks really cool.

Wow, sounds like one cool build, Randizzle! '41 Plymouths have some great lines plus plenty of room in there for a Cummins. If it was me I'd probably go with a deep, dark azure blue, darker than Mopar V8 color. Love to see pics when you can...

I kinda like the burnt orange engine enamel I used on the '91.5.

I think I'd use it again...especially if I built up a rust colored or flat black rat rod!

Whatever you do, be sure to post up pics of your progress!

I guess I've always known Chevrolet's color is orange and Ford's is blue.

What was the traditional (1950s and 1960s) color for Chrysler/Dodge?

Why, of course, original Chrysler Orange. It's available in the enamel DupliColor paint line.
