What about the EGT'S?

Before or after the turbo? That is the question. I know that befor the turbo with the pyro probe is more accurate, right? But if the probe breaks or melts off kiss the turbine good-bye right? What setup is the most recomended? I would hate to loose the turbo to a foregin object, but I would aslo hate to melt my turbo with an inaccurate reading. When I get my pyro what range (1500 or 1600) should I get? Also, what is the redline for temp? When is it too high for too long?

pyro should be in the manifold. 1250 is the majic #.

Before the trubo for sure. Be sure to tap it in to one side, not centered because the manifold has a divider down the center. Yeah, I've heard 1250 is the magic # that you can run at for extended periods, #'s above that can be done for short periods, but you're taking a risk. As far as the probe breaking/ melting, if it gets hot enough to melt then your turbo has also melted, and breaking is rare.

I would not worry about melting the probe or the turbo, if you melt the probe or the turbo, there's bigger things to worry about. Like the pistons that are starting to coat the inside of the exhaust. Does that count as an aluminized exhaust?

your best bet is to do it before.....i did it after.......cause i dont have the tools to do it otherwise :( i know i'm poor.....i own a diesel :)
