What 1st, clutch or tranny?

I know my stock clutch and tranny will need replacement probably sooner than later, so which should be replaced 1st (5 speed)? Probably will go with sbc and nv4500.

Larry
I tried another clutch before SouthBend and was not happy. It had a very pronounced launch shudder unless you started in first. Peter at SBC will give you very sound advise - I've got a Con-O in my '93 and love it.

As far as the tranny goes I would call Dan at Quad 4X4 in Roberts MT. His kit is spendy but complete and very reliable. I've read some bad horor stories from those that have tried to save a buck. The above two are top notch and very well known in our circles.

Old Smokey just put in a new NV4500HD from Quar 4X4 so contact him for details. Good luck.

Bob

I agree with Bob. Use high quality parts. I also went with the South Bend ConO, as well as the Quad 4X4 kit. As to which should be replaced first, I would do both at the same time. I don't know about you, but I don’t want to tear everything apart more than I have to, especially if you know your going to both anyway. If you have any more questions just let me know.

Mike
