Be careful that stuff in the bed doesn't slide into the tank and break it (although it sounds like the tool box is protecting it). I've been trying to come up with a way to protect the tank and I might put it inside a locking tool box. This way someone couldn't just walk up and add whatever they want to the tank.

I still haven't been able to find a suitable tank too. I've tried a few of the bigger RV places and they don't even have them. Where's the best place to get a clear poly tank locally?

Take some pics and show us where you put the controller. I still haven't mounted mine permanently yet, as it's hard to find a suitable location with all the gauges/accesories I have. Here's where it is for now...

You bring up a good point about the tank and impact damage. Perhaps I can include a plate of aluminum attached to the mounting straps that will shield it.

I hadn't considered some scoundrel spiking the punch.

Thus far I'm thinking to putting the controller in the dash above the glove-box. I'm under the impression that, once set, one shouldn't have to fiddle with it. I'm currently thinking a simple Arm/Disarm switch will suffice.

As far as tanks go . . . . .

I've looked at the one Snow offers (8 gal), and for the life of me, couldn't come up with a place to put it and not have it get in the way. I appears of very good construction. CoolingMist offers a much larger variety. I guess it's all a matter of what you want and are willing to spend in money, install time, frequency of filling, etc, etc.

Be sure to check your local agricultural supply house as well as landscape suppliers as they'd have a good selection of tanks for fertilizer/chemical apps.

. . . .. As you're considering, perhaps it'll be best in the long run to install it all in the tool box . . . . . hmmm . . . . ?

Let's go see.

EDIT~ In the tool box will work nicely.

Northern has the same tank Snow uses, as well as a few other tanks.

Yup, yup. . . .

Dave, who has the hottest washer fluid that's readily available from the major auto parts houses?

The stuff that's good to -40 is around 40% meth. The cost/benefit ratio is pretty bad unless you are going for max power on a dyno. For playing on the street and EGT reduction, use the cheap stuff.

Thanks Dave.

Boy. This is frosting my behind.

I've got this brand new toy and can't do a thing with it! I'm on-call with work (HVAC&R) this past week, and this weekend (now). Everybody and more are worrying me about the soft ice cream, and steamy dining rooms!

Crap!

ehynol is avalible at paint stores in up to 55 gln drums for around $200, which is very economical, and in case your wondering the diff, its the same bite as meth as matter of fact its got a touch of meth added to discourage ppl from drinking it since ethynol is basicly moon shine.

I did not see the PMs, but I do recall talking to you on the phone. Anytime someone clicks to our site from another, we capture the website they came from and the link so its easy for us to see. Thats how we found this.

Back to the question. Likely you will need both nozzles. I would start with the single nozzle PRIOR to the Y. If that is not enough cooling, I would tee the 2nd provided nozzle across from that.

With the dynamics of the controller you will be able to get the right flow/mix.

Please let us know how this is working for you.

I get straight methanol race fuel for $3.20 per gallon around northern CA at a fuel store. $.80 per gallon [@ 75% water] for your fluid is less than cheap?

Thanks David.

Another day or so should see some results. It's been a scorcher here lately (just like everywhere else), and the system's going in in sections just before calling it a day.

Thanks all.

I ended up installing the injectors top and bottom of the intakes inlet. My thinking is that if there's any weird airflow due to the twists and turns of the ductwork, having the injectors as they are help eliminate more mist going to one branch as compared to the other.

The bottom injector is rated at 15gph while the top injector is rated at 6gpr. The check-valve is located on the charge-air pipe just below the injectors. (I've wrapped it with foam insulation tape so that vibration won't be an issue there).

Running a 55/45% mix initially presents as though I could make that top injector larger. . . . . . . .

Thanks for the input folks.

DOH! I see a loose screw in that fan shroud!

Don't worry, your tire will pick it up for you if it falls out

Everything looks good on the WM setup

If it's not bogging you don't have enough.

Hey BC847,

The tank mounting looks great! Where did you mount the pump?

EDIT: D'oh, I see the pic of where it's mounted now. Very nice and clean install!
