Water Fuel Seperator Question

Hello,
I am rebuilding my cummins engine to stick in my CC frame and as I was going through it, I bought a new water/fuel filter for it. As I was going to install it, I noticed that the guy who had this truck before me had put a different filter on the engine than what it is supposed to be. The one he had one there had no port at the bottom for the sensor to hook up, but my new filter does and it looks like if I don't put anything there, then the fuel will just drain out the bottom of the filter. Could someone send me some pics of how it is supposed to look all hooked up so that I can hope and try to find the wiring that is supposed to hook up to my fuel filter? Thanks!

I would just go with the larger FS1221 filter and forget about the WIF sensor. All the WIF sensor does is trigger a dash light through the PCM.

Yeah I might end up doing that, but the problem is I already have the filter I just don't know what the hookup looks like...

Sounds like you're missing some parts, as its just a couple wires and a rubber plug-looking dealie (like my technical description?). I'd sell your filter here and get the one Ace recommends. I wouldn't try to "restore" the WIF sensor... H.

Ok well it looks like I have all of the wiring because there is a plug that drops down right by where the filter goes. It looks like I'm onyly missing the part that goes between the bottom of the filter and this plug. Would it really be that hard to find this part or order it from cummins? If so, where do I buy the other recommended filter from?

The WIF sensor is about $25, you can get it from Cummins or online from Geno's Garage.

Cummins (or any truck shop that carries Fleetguard) can get you the FS1221 filter.

Ok thanks, also, is there a way to order cummins parts online through their website, because if there is I cannot find it.
